Prayer Request

UOL prelims are just round the corner and I guess many are running through their own revision before the first paper hits. Can I ask that ALL students from UOL to submit their own set of prayer request for the upcoming prelim so that we can prayer together as a Lifegrp. We'll support one another in pray, shall we?

Today, Pastor Prince challenged the church to surrender 1/10 of our brain, the only usable part of it to God and in return God will honour us by making the rest of the 9/10 of it to function like never before. Do you understand what I'm saying over here? (: To put it in simple terms, basically we are to always give God FIRST in all that we do. We should always give him our firstfruit as an offering to God. In this case, by giving 1/10 of our usable brain to God. We're telling God that we are going to surrender our all to Him. So why don't you now say this little prayer now and I'm sure God will in cause the rest of the non-active 9/10 of the brain to work in a miraculous way. Our memory bank will increase, creative juice will increase and more wisdom of God can stay put inside!

So what are you waiting for? Simply just login into the blog's account and put your request in the 'Comments' area.

devtionTHREE - What Do You Seek?

Hello 'Revelation'! How's church today? What did your pastor preach to you guys today? Today I visited New Creation Church and I thought was rather interesting. Pastor Prince is a dynamic speaker and today's sermon was not bad. Haha, walk around Suntec for awhile after services. There's SALE in FoxMen/Women. 50% + 15% for 2nd piece or something. Haha! Quite a good deal, saw my stuff with just 5sec glance as I passed it in the afternoon. We should go shopping together! Grab all the cheap and good deal stuff.Lol! Anyway, here's the devotion for today!

Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, "What do you seek?" —John 1:38

How would you answer if Jesus were to ask you, "What do you seek?" (John 1:38).Would you ask Him for health and fitness? A better job? A happier marriage? Financial security? Vindication from a false accusation? Salvation for a wayward loved one? An explanation of some difficult theological concept?

For two disciples of John the Baptist, this situation was more than an exercise in imagination. One day while they were with John, Jesus walked by and John announced, "Behold the Lamb of God!" (v.36). Instead of continuing to follow John, his two disciples started following Jesus.

When Jesus saw them, He asked, "What do you seek?" (v.38).

Apparently John had taught them well, because their answer indicated that they were not seeking something for themselves but Jesus Himself. They wanted to know where Jesus was staying. Not only did Jesus show them the place, He spent the remainder of the day with them.

I wonder how often we miss an opportunity to spend time with Jesus because we're seeking something other than His presence. I know from experience that the more time I spend with Jesus, the less desire I have for a lot of things that once seemed very important.

To walk in fellowship with ChristAnd sense His love so deep and trueBrings to the soul its highest joyAs nothing in this world can do. —D. De Haan

Jesus longs for our fellowship even more than we long for His.

Goodnight folks,kev
